HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

Getting Divine Attention

In Jesus we have everything. In His presence, there is power. But, as much as He is ever ready to solve all our problems, getting His attention sometimes may not be as easy as we think.
There are situations in our lives that defile the usual way of getting His response; when the usual methods have been applied, and the answer is not forthcoming, there is a need to go the extra mile.
Luke 5:18-20, "And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. ".
A man was sick of palsy according to the scripture above, bringing him before Jesus to receive the needed attention was not as easy as they must have imagined. There was a large multitude which would not allow them to pass through the door into the house where Jesus was teaching. It took a strong determination and a high level of persistence to bring their friend before Jesus.
Dear brothers and sisters, how determined are you to get divine attention?
Your level of doggedness determines largely how soon you are attended to.
Please, understand there is a price to pay in order to get His attention; this involves the ability to see beyond the seen, it involves going the extra mile and it involves doing the unusual.
Divine attention is for only those with strong determination, people that do not take no for an answer, people that have rugged faith in the supernatural and people that have total confidence in the power of God.
Mark 10:46-52, Blind Bartimaeus was sitting by the roadside begging for alms when he heard that it was Jesus Christ of Nazareth that was passing by. He had to do the unusual by raising up his voice and shouted, "Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me".
He was cautioned severally and asked to stop shouting but he cried out the more a great deal because he would not take the no for an answer. Jesus, however, was touched by his great level of faith and He stood still, He could not go any further and He granted him the required attention that he has long waited for.

We will attract a divine attention if we can learn some lessons from the account we saw in Luke 5:18-20;
It would amaze you to know that the first thing said by Jesus Christ having saw the faith of the men that brought the man that was sick of the palsy was "Man, thy sins are forgiven thee". This is an indication to show that we must confess our sins, seek forgiveness and repent of them all. And, if you are yet to accept the lordship of Jesus over your lives, it is high time you did.
Sin creates a barrier between you and God. Sin places you in subjection to sickness. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Sin legally gives Satan, dominion and authority over you. Isaiah 59:1-2, "Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear".

It was also noticed that efforts were first put in place to bring this man to the scene of the teaching. They actually sought to be in His presence. This implies that after we have gotten our sins forgiven, there is a need to seek the presence of God with all our heart, with all our strength and with all our mind. While we may not be able to find him physically just like the multitude did, if we seek Him in prayer, praise, worship, rendering quality service unto Him and using our substances for His glory, we will definitely find Him. Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened".

Everyone present in the meeting actually sought to be in His presence, but the men that brought the sick man didn't just seek to be, they actually actually came to have an encounter.
As it is common to everybody; prayer, praise, worship, rendering quality service and using our substances for His glory can be likened to getting a ticket to appear in His presence. But, getting His attention in the midst of a large multitude many a times may requires us to go the extra mile and do the unusual. Luke 5:19, "And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus".
They had to climb the housetop, open up the roof and create a means through which their friend was let down to appear before Jesus Christ in the midst of the multitude.
Climbing the housetop by the men with the sick of the palsy is doing the unusual and going the extra mile which actually is a high-level of persistence and determination to get the solution to the problem. When we seek to find God, we can equally climb the housetop by doing the unusual when we do not just pray, but, at least fast alongside the prayer.

The man sick of the palsy could no longer help himself, he needed people to assist him. Thank God, He was able to have around him, good people that took it upon themselves to make sure that he got divine attention he needed from our Lord Jesus Christ. Luke 5:18, And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
What type of people do you have around you today?
What type of person are you too, to the people that have you around them?
This takes us to the next lesson which says suround yourself with good people. But, not only that, always be a good person to the people that have you around them.
You need to have around you, people that are ready to take it upon themselves to stand in gap for you in prayer and fasting when the need arises.

In conclusion, please do all in faith.
Luke 5:20, And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee".
All their effort would have been in vain, but for the faith that Jesus saw in them.
Faith determines largely whether we will receive from God or not, please hold on to your faith.
Faith is total confidence and total trust in the ability of God to do whatever He has said, do not doubt His ability.
Faith is the response of human spirit to the word of God. Let the word of God be hid in your heart
1 John 5:4, "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith".
Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him".

Only the children of God can get divine attention. Therefore, if you have not surrendered your life to Jesus, it is very important you do so now.
