HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

Masturbation Is More Than An Habit

There are so many sins in the life of  Christian and non-christian individuals today that can not just be referred to as sin but which have gradually become an habit.

Sin is that which is thought, done and spoken in selfishness.
It is that which is done without faith.
It is that which is not right but wrong and in contrary to the will of God.

Is masturbation a sin?
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's".

From the scripture quoted above, it is obvious the body is not originally our own. Therefore, it is an abuse of office, getting it involved in an unholy romance.

Habit however is the next level after a sin is registered and has repeated itself severally in ones life without a resolution, which in turn has become inherent in the individual just like a normal habit of sleeping, eating and bathing.

Masturbation is a Sin with a capital 'S' but to its victims, it is just an habit and many a time, it could not be controlled. However, for such an individual to come out of it, a meticulous attention is required.
Masturbation like every other habit is a silent killer. It is an enemy within and an action usually carried out privately. It inhabits the life of the host without notice to an outsider, except the host confide in an individual and voice out the problem in his quest to find a solution.

It is not to be mentioned among the Christians for they that are under its influence lack control over it and usually have no clue about the way out.

Sometime ago, i came in contact with a divorced woman of about 38 years of age. While having conversation with her, i made her to understand that any sexual activity outside marriage is a sin. In her response, she made it clear that she is still a young woman with a strong desire for sex that can not be controlled. However, if that remains a sin, God should just try and understand, she said.

You can imagine this kind of response,  with this mindset however, it is no more recognized as sin but an habit that the individual can not do without.

Dear reader, let us agree that masturbation is an habit, but a bad one. Hence, a bad habit can be replaced with a good one.
Smoking, drunkenness, truancy and prostitution are all bad habits that destroy both the body and the spirit but we can easily overcome them by replacing them with spirit building habit.
Apostle Paul once said in Ephesians 5:18, " And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the spirit".

Masturbation is an habit originated from within therefore it must be tackled form within.

Stop thinking and fantasizing your past sex escapades, choose to dwell and meditate on one or two verses from the bible.
Instead of reading or perusing erotic novels, catalogues or magazines, choose to study devotional materials and inspirational books from men of God.
Disregard watching of pornography and some other related exposition, Choose to watch and listen to inspirational messages and spirit building programs both on TV and internet.
Avoid sitting down in the midst of friends who are fond of discussing sex, associate yourself with people of higher spiritual standard.
Try as much as possible not to be alone all the time, endeavour to involve yourself  in all spiritual activities going on in your local assembly by attending all the services in the church.

Masturbation is a very dangerous habit that do lay a very tight grip on its victims. It is an habit from the pit of hell (Devil) and for you to overcome him, you need a stronger power of Jesus Christ in your life.
Note this, you as a person is not condemned but that habit is.
Call on Jesus today, He is the saviour of the world.
Put into action all that is prescribed in this article and your victory is inevitable in the name of Jesus.
