HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

Dreamers Are Achiever

A young man was once asked, what do you think about your future?
In his response, he was so vague about life that he never dreamt of a better tomorrow.
He simply said, can there be anything better?

Well, his father was the head-teacher in their village with government quarters to their advantage as the occupant. He was always taken to the school alongside his father in a government vehicle attached to the school while other children trekked a significant distance to school everyday. Often time, he travels to the city with his father during the holiday to visit his mother which makes him to appear more exposed and gives him an edge over his peers in the village for most of them have not gone out of the village since birth.
This boy was the cynosure of all eyes as far as this village is concerned. Every child wants to be his friend. Even the elders in the community love him and many a time shower encomium on him as the head-teacher's son. Dear reader, can there indeed be anything better?

Presently, I am living an average life due a child of God.
I have an accommodation, married with a son, can feed me and my family three times a day, no car yet but can afford to pay transport fair to anywhere I want to go within my country. Can there be anything better for me? I think my answer to this question is emphatically YES because I can see myself living above average, I can see myself in my own privately built houses and I can see myself flying around the world in my own private jets. ...............mh..............mh...............
The question is simply how far can you see? If you can see it then you can have it.

Without a dream, the future is bleak but when dream is in place, the future is readily secured.
Behind every great success in life is a dream. Without dream, life is worthless and there is no future.
Only the dreamers achieve great success in life while the non-dreamers walk the surface of this earth without making any landmark.
However, dreamers and non-dreamers are never in agreement.
According to Genesis 37:5-11, Joseph had a dream but the brothers had no dream. Hence, the Bible says, "And they hated him yet the more".

Man was not created to be enemy one to another, it is not natural. But, enmity starts when a better future is perceived as touching the other man's dream. According to the dream of Joseph, a better future awaited him than that of his dreamless brothers, yet they envied and hated him for this even as their own biological brother.

Envy Not A Dreamer
Have you any dream today?
If your answer is yes, then a greater and better future waits ahead of you. But if your answer is no, it is never too late, ask God to give you one just as He gave to Joseph and it came to pass, yours will not be exceptional.
Never have you envied anyone to whom God has given a dream, otherwise you may end up the same way Joseph brothers ended up in which they finally bowed to him even in their ignorance.

What Actually Is Dream?
Dream, according to Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary is defined as;
  • A series of images, events and feelings that happen in one's mind while asleep.
  • A wish to have or to be something especially one that seems difficult to achieve.
  • A state of mind or a situation in which things do not seem real or part of normal life.
From all these definitions written above, we can easily conclude that dream is a vision revealing the unseen future as touching an individual, a family, a nation or the world at large consciously or subconsciously.
Dream is an ability to see beyond the present into the future.
Joseph's dream was a vision given to him while in the subconscious, revealing the unseen future as touching him-the dreamer, his family, his nation and the whole world at large in his days.

Types of Dream
There are two types of dream;

God-Given Dream
This is a vision received from God mostly in the subconscious, revealing a divine plan of God as touching the unseen future of an individual, a family, a nation or the world at large.
Note this, God-Given Dream is bound to succeed.
When a dream is God-given, you can be rest assured, it is a programmed and finished event.
The realization of such dream is purely an absolute act of God which can not be hindered nor altered by any
mortal man neither the one to whom the dream is given. It is a written and already acted script in the spiritual
that only needs to be made manifest in the physical.
I have heard people saying several times, why did Joseph keep on telling his brothers about his dream? Why
couldn't he keep the dream to himself? Many actually said he went through all the sufferings because he
could not keep his mouth shut. But little did they know that without the persecution of Joseph brothers he
would not be able to go to Egypt as a slave, serve in Potiphar's house where he came in contact with
Potiphar's wife of which he was sent to jail for false accusation. Neither would he have come in contact with
the two Pharaoh’s servants that gave him the opportunity to showcase his talent in the prison which finally
took him to Pharaoh’s palace.
Joseph has never made mistake in telling his brother about his dream, it is purely an absolute act of God. Remember, the Bible says, “All things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to the purpose of God”. Romans 8:28
Joseph’s dream was God-given and it certainly came to pass in a wonderful and miraculous way.

Man-made Dream
This in the other hand is a vision that is fabricated by men in order to achieve a particular goal as the unseen future of an individual, a family, a nation, or the world at large.
It is generally a personal wish to have or to be (wannabe kind of).
Note—Man-Made Dream is subject to the word of God.
When dream is man-made, it can be good or bad, just according to the heart desire of the dreamer. For instance, it was King Herod’s dream to have baby-Jesus killed at birth. So also, it was Adolph Hitler’s dream to eliminate all the Jews on the surface of the earth in 1940.
However, when dream is not in line with the word of God, the dreamer may end up frustrated and unfulfilled.
One beauty of dream is that, it does not matter whether it is inspired by God or just a heart desire; if it is in agreement with the word of God, I can assure you with much diligence, the dream will be realized. For instance, you can come up with a desire to reach out to the needy in the world just like Mother Teresa. It does not matter your income level at present, if you are diligent and faithful enough, God is able to expand your reach till you actualize your dream.
Have you any heart desire? Is it in line with the word of God? That business empire you are planning to build, of what correspondence is it with the word of God? Check it, so that you can be a success at the end.

Dream Took Joseph To Palace

Finally, Joseph became a prime minister in Egypt, the one to reckon with in the whole land after Pharaoh.
The dream came to pass and the brothers and the entire family came bowing to him even as he had earlier seen it in his dream.
Dream was what took Joseph out of his father’s house and sold him as a slave in the strange land. But the same dream was what brought him to the throne even as a stranger in the strange land.
Has God given you any dream?
How big is such dream?
Do you doubt its realization?
Keep your mind at rest for God is able to perform His word in its due season.
Are you facing any challenge presently and you doubt if the dream will actually come to pass?
I want to encourage you, do not compromise your faith in God. Maintain your relationship and fellowship with Him daily, those challenges can not stop you, they can only act as stepping stones to the realization of your dream.

Joseph did not compromise when he came in contact with temptation in the house of Potiphar; he maintained his integrity and God finally vindicated him in a miraculous way and in fulfilment to his dream.

Dream acts as roadmap on our route to success.
It helps in channelling our effort towards a goal.
When dream is in place, future is readily secured.
Do not kill your dream because of the present challenges.
Believe in your dream and hold on to God.
Keep on dreaming for only the dreamers achieve great success in life.

Conclusively, your success today is a product of your dream yesterday. Your failure as well is, but a result of no dream. However, tomorrow is never too late. Therefore, dream today to secure your better tomorrow.

It is a pleasure having you around here today.
