HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

Who Is Your Guide?

Like a little child or as a blind man, when one is found in a strange land, the need for a guide becomes paramount. Without a guide on a strange land, a stranger tends to violate the law of the land, take a forbidden step and gets himself punished or killed based on his ignorance.

There is a need to have basic knowledge of a place in order to have a smooth ride on the land and this knowledge comes only through a knowledgeable and a truthful guide.

There could be many guides in a particular place at the same time when one is in need, the ability to choose the right guide therefore becomes a great task.

During their days in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve as fresh occupant were unfortunate to have come in contact with an untruthful and a deceitful guide.
Genesis 3:1-5, “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil”

They were misguided against the commandment of God by the devil, got themselves punished and finally died according to the penalty in line with their wrong choice.

Interestingly, no one ever regarded himself as a stranger as long as he is a citizen of a particular nation and currently resides therein. Until he travels out of the country, he may never be able to experience what it actually means to be astranger.
But, the truth remains every man on earth today is a complete stranger that knows little or nothing about his present habitat.

Job 38:1-4, “Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Who is this that darkened counsel by words without knowledge?
Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
Where was thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding”

Can you provide answer to this question?

It is true there could be many guide on earth today but divine guidance comes only from above.
It is only a guide from above that can show us the way to our destination, a guide from beneath therefore will end up showing the way beneath. In John 8:23, Jesus said to the Pharisees “Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world”
Jesus stated further while having a discussion with Nicodemus in John 3:13, “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven”
Only Jesus knows the answer to the question above.

As a total stranger on earth, wisdom demands that we take guidance from the one that brought us here in the first place.
You will notice that Adam rejected the guidance from above at creation, he took the guidance from the devil and he ended beneath.
Therefore, as long as a man remains in the sinful nature of Adam, he is an unconscious and an uninformed stranger on earth, sheep without shepherd, stranger without guide and a man without God on earth. What a tragedy!

God's guidance is a process whereby we are being told what to do, how to do it and when to do it taking instruction from above.

Unambigious as you may think, divine guidance can be easily accessed in the bible. Every information required for our smooth sailing on the surface of earth is readily provided in the word of God. This is the only word that gives command to the devil here on earth.  It is the word that put a mortal man in charge of the spiritual world.
Jesus was early in life attacked by the devil in the wilderness but He overcame him by taking guidance from the written word of God. Matthew 4:3-4, "And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God"
Be encouraged to submit to the lordship of Jesus Christ today, he is willing to see you through.
