HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

WHO IS YOUR MASTER?

The need to be free suggests that one is currently in bondage, captivity, or slavery.

Genesis 3:17, "And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life"

All these, however, are subject to taskmasters without which there will be no slave neither will there be any servant as everyone will just be free.

There are different types of captivity as well as different type of master. There is both physical and spiritual captivity, so also the masters.
The book of Exodus explained to us, the great captivity suffered by the people of God in the hand of Pharaoh at Egypt. This is an example of physical captivity.
In the book of Acts 3:1-8, a story was told of a man lame from his mother’s womb, they normally bring him to the gate of a temple called Beautiful so as to beg for alms as people come to pray in the temple. This young man has legs but could not walk; why this was so, nobody could tell. This is an example of spiritual captivity. It does not matter the type of captivity you are undergoing currently, the good news is that you can be free indeed.
Captivity forbids the captive to do anything as he likes; it has to be according to the dictates of the master. It forbids you to sleep when you want, disallows you to eat what you want, go to where you want, talk where and when you are supposed to talk. The captive is not free in any way.
For every territory, there is a master and there is no man on earth today who can totally say he is free. Everyone answers to a master, the question is; who is your master?
John 8:34-36, “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”

At creation, Adam became a servant to sin when he decided to take order from Satan. He disobeyed divine instruction of God and he came into captivity under the ruling of Satan.
Today, Adam has no place anymore in the kingdom of God, by a single act of disobedience, he chose to be a servant of sin and so also is everyone who has refused to receive the gospel of salvation as it was preached by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the only Son who has being with the Father from the beginning even until now. Satan was just an anointed cherub, a servant who served the Lord in the time past. He is not the son, hence, he rebelled against God; he was relieved of his duty and was thrown out of Heaven.
Jesus is the only Son with the love of the Father. He sacrificed His life in remittance for the sins of the world and He is saying today, if only He as the Son can set you free, you shall be free indeed. Would you like to be free from sin?

The following are things you need to do;
1.    Be born again and surrender your life to Jesus. John 3:3, “………….Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born    again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”
2.    Be willing. If you are not willing to be free, nobody can force you. Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” Jesus will not force the door open, it is your absolute responsibility to allow Him.
3.    Put yourself under the new government of Jesus. Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”
4.    Henceforth, let your thought, action, and word be in line with the word of God.
Luke 10:27, “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself”

Conclusively, the worst form of captivity is that in which your mind is completely shut against the truth. You might be locked up in a self-made captivity, free your mind to receive the truth. John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
