HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

YIELDING TO GOD

Every child of God has the ability to choose whether to do the right or wrong. When a good work is done, it is commonly attributed to the Holy Spirit and when it is an evil deed, devil is always the culprit. Indeed, devil could sometimes be a factor for deception to do evil as in the case of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:1-7, but on many occasions, we are responsible for every act of unrighteousness carried out by us.

As much as this can be an issue, I have never seen a right thinking individual intentionally washed his face with acid or dipped his scratching hand into a burning fire all to get relieved from the scratches, neither would anyone just because he was told about the tastiness of toilet maggot try to put one in his mouth. All these are scenarios for consideration in which we have total control no matter who we are, yet we never do it the other way round.

Romans 6:13, “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God”

The scripture above corroborates the fact that we have all it takes to say yes or no to a good work or an evil deed as the case may be. Our members as specifically mentioned in this scripture refer to our sense organs which include our eyes, tongue, skin, nose and ears. These five members are always responsible for all decisions taking by us whether good or bad. With the eyes, we see all sorts of things noble and ignoble. The ear is very vital in the sense that you don’t even see many a time, you only hear the sound which invariably determine your next line of action in accordance with what you have heard.  The sense organs virtually control every bit of our actions as human being.

Perhaps, man would do better spiritually without all these sense organs in his body; the Bible encourages us to mortify our members which are on earth. Romans 8:13, “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live”
Of a truth, man would be a perfect individual spiritually speaking without his body, but that is not the plan of God for man. Man was actually created to dominate the physical world and not the spiritual world. For man to achieve this task however, he needs his physical sense organs together with his body. Hence, He encourages us to be in control of these sense organs.

Please note, you have the right to choose whatever you want to see, but the power is embedded in you to see always, things that glorify the name of God. Even, if the wrong information is passed across your hearing, you have all it takes to remain mute or disregard such devilish information. Tongue is design for tasting as well as expressing ourselves in words. It can be used to taste or say anything, however, you have all it takes to taste and say the right thing at all times. Nose is used to smell and know more about our immediate environment, it can be used both to our advantage as well as our disadvantage but you can choose to use it to the glory of God. Through our skin, we feel it when there is cold as well as when there is heat. Love and hatred is equally not just conceived but come as a result of feelings we have one to another. Feelings say a lot about how we deal with ourselves as human being, sometimes in a good way and many a times in a bad way. The truth is that when you love someone, nothing irritates you about such individual; everything he does is always perfect even when you have to endure. However, Apostle Paul admonished us to provoke one another to love rather than being provoked to hatred. Hebrew 10:24, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works”

Are you struggling to live in righteousness unto God?
Do you believe you can be a perfect being that you were created to be?
Do you know you can live a life void of sin?
You can do all these when you yield your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
