HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

CHURCH CRITICISM

It has suddenly become a norm in our nations to see people taking to their twitter or Facebook handle just to badmouth the activities of the church in the recent time.
With little or no respect for the present day men of God, the sacred work of the ministry has become a very hot terrain for the newly called clerics as men of God receive a physical, spiritual and verbal attack from different quarters on daily basis. The most unfortunate thing about this ugly incident is the fact that 90% of these critics are   Christians. What an irony!

Now, if you are among those that join issues with people online to bring down a particular church or a man of God, I think it is time to desist from such a terrible act of great disservice to the kingdom of God. Jesus declared in Matthew 12:25, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:”
Well, this prank has worked until now. Please, let us be wise and stand together in unity for the body of Christ is one.

Many of us indeed do criticize certain men of God for their financial status, for carrying out their God-given assignments and for miracles performed through them. Even when we are yet to confirm, we always assume they are using some power received from the biblical Beelzebub, we stubbornly stick to our own theory about them and this is gradually bringing division into the body of Christ. This is totally not acceptable to the church.

Mark 9:38-39, “And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him because he followeth not us.
But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name that can lightly speak evil of me”

As we can see in the bible text quoted above, the disciples were found doing the same thing the church is also doing today and they came asking the master about the man they saw on the field while out there preaching the gospel, who was seen casting out devils in the name of Jesus but would not agree to follow them to be a member of their own denomination. To the disciple, this man could not be a disciple of Jesus Christ since he refused to join them and become a member of their denomination. As a result of this, they criticized and stopped him from what he was doing for Jesus. But, Jesus made it clear to them, as long as this man does all he is doing in my name, not necessarily following you as a member of your denomination, he should be allowed as a member of the church. He said such a man does no harm to the body of Christ; he will rather help and promote the work of the ministry.

It is not necessary that we are of the same denomination. In fact, you don’t need to be a member of my local assembly for me to accept you as a brother in Christ. The church is one body of Jesus Christ that is made up of different members represented by you and me.
In our body as an individual are different members that perform different responsibilities, some with noble tasks, while some perform tasks that cannot be proud of, but all work together for the betterment of the whole body. In the body of Christ as well are many that are honourably carrying out the work of God with all diligence, whereas, many are doing it with questionable effrontery but we share something in common; the body of Jesus, with which whether we like it or not, we are inseparable.

As long as the fellow is calling the name of Jesus, judging whether he uses a contrary power or not is actually not our business. He admonished we should leave that to God, the ultimate judge of all men. Matthew 7:1, "Judge not, that ye be not judged".

Your duty as a Christian is to add value to the church, choose not to be ignorant of the devil’s prank. Desist from preaching the doctrine of Satan whether on Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp. Use your Facebook handle to say something positive about the church; choose not to comment on posts written with derogatory mark whether about the church or a particular man of God.
Please, be wise!
