HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

The Sound of an Abundance of Rain

As long as the enemy is winning the battle, hearing the sound of an abundance of rain may be a difficult task. Elijah the Tishbite was able to hear this sound after the enemies of God, Baal and his prophets have been silenced in Israel. However, the reason the enemy continues to dominate is that there is no one to challenge him.
1 Samuel 17:8 - 10,  In the days of David, Goliath stood for forty days bragging about himself as the indomitable warrior on earth until David showed up and silenced him.
1 Kings 18:22 - 24, In the days of Elijah, Baal was given more respect and honour because there was no one that could challenge his authority until Elijah called for the contest and kept him where he belongs.

God is always looking for one man or woman, in a family, a society and a nation who will be bold enough to look at the enemy eye bore to eye bore, who will be able to stand upon his altar and say the Lord rebuke you Satan. Please understand, we have to do what we need to do for God to cause a change that we all expect.

The moment Elijah confronted the battle, the victory was sure because God has never lost a battle. The victory was given without any delay and Elijah knew it was time for the great move of God. He simply announced I can hear a sound of abundance of rain. May I announce to yo today, your rain of miracle has started already. Your heaven is opened, your rain of abundant blessing begins now. It shall fall to wet your ground and you will never experience dryness again in the name of Jesus.

What is rain?

1. Rain is the divine catalyst that aids unending fruitfulness on earth.
Leviticus 26:3-4, "If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit"

2. Rain is the direct and physical intervention of God from heaven to earth.
Jeremiah 14:22, "Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all the earth"

3. When there is no rain, it is a sign of God's anger towards man, and famine will be so evident.
2 Chronicles 6:26, "When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them"

Rain can be of different types;

1. Rain of water
Genesis 2:5,  "And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

2. Rain of fire and brimstone
Genesis 19:24,  "Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;"

3. Rain of hail
Exodus 9:18, "Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now".

4. Rain of Bread
Exodus 16:4, "Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no".

5. Rain of Powder and Dust
Deuteronomy 28:24, "The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed".

Obviously, God sends rain for two purposes;

1. As a blessing to His people

2. As a curse to His enemies

The question is where do you stand today?
Are you standing as a friend of God or as one of His enemies?
If you are fighting the propagation of the gospel here on earth, you are one of His enemies.
If you maltreat your fellow human being unjustly, God is not pleased with you.
If your source of livelihood is questionable, you better make a change. And finally, if you have not surrendered your life to Jesus; the sacrifice He made for mankind by the death of His only begotten Son to save the world is in vain over your life. Hence, His anger towards you. You must make a decision to become His friend today by surrendering your life to Jesus.
There is a sound of abundance of rain, this might be the rain of blessing if you are a friend of God; but, the rain of destruction if you are His enemy.

What happens when an abundance of rain falls?

1. The enemy stronghold is destroyed and the people of God have victory over their enemies.
Genesis 19:24,  "Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;"

2. There is a solution to every recurring challenge.
Exodus 16:4, "Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no".

3. Little effort brings a bumper harvest.
Leviticus 26:3-4, "If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit"

4. There is hope of all-around rest.
Joshua 21:44, "And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand".

Conclusively, the abundance of rain may be that of blessing or destruction, it is to you according to your works.
