HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

GOD WILL PROVIDE

Without much understanding of the God we serve, His promises towards us and the benefits of being called by His name, we missed out many a time on blessings that rightly belong to us.
Proverbs 4:7, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding"
It is wisdom to pick the bible and study, but it is understanding to practice what is studied in the bible. Until the word of God is put to practice especially in a time of trouble, we may be Christians for years without real or life experience of His power.
Until Abraham obeyed God, He was not revealed to him as Jehova Jireh (The Great Provider). Genesis 22:14, "And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah Jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen"

Until the servants carried out the instruction of Jesus Christ at Cana of Galilee, He was not revealed to them as The Great Provider. John 2:5, "His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it"

It is my pleasure to announce to you that our God is a healer, deliverer, the present help in trouble, the mighty man in battle, the Almighty, the All-powerful, the All knowing, the All-sufficient and the Great Provider.

Genesis 22:7-8, "And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together"

If there is anything I want you to understand, it is simply Abraham's response to that important question asked by the young lad. It doesn't matter what your need may be, I want you to tell yourself, God will provide.

It takes a man that knows God to talk like this. What do you tell yourself in  difficult situations of life? At what position do you keep God in your matter? How much have you struggled all alone when you have the Great Provider as your God?

Here are a few points to Note About God as the Great Provider;

  1. He will be revealed as the Great Provider in your situation when you stop arguing with Him. In Genesis 22:2-3, Abraham never argued with God when he was asked to take his only son to the mountain for sacrifice. He simply obeyed God and was ready to sacrifice his son until God intervened.
  2. He will be revealed as the Great Provider in your situations when you learn to speak His language. Genesis 22:8, the young man was curious, he wanted to know if the father has forgotten they would need a lamb for the sacrifice which was not readily available. Even when Abraham did not forget, but acting on the instruction given to him, he didn't reveal it to the boy as it was; he simply answered and said, God will provide.
  • There is no impossibility with God, therefore, stop saying it is not possible. Luke 1:37 says,  "For with God nothing shall be impossible".
  • There is no weakness with God, therefore, stop talking weakness and learn to speak strength no matter how weak you may feel or no matter how bad the situation may be. Joel 3:10 says, "Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong"
  • There is no lack with God, therefore, stop telling yourself you are poor. Psalms 24:1, "The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein"
  • Your Father is the All Sufficient God. Psalm 23:1 says, the Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.
In conclusion, God is not glorified in our lack, poverty and affliction. He's not happy when we could not understand simple spiritual logic to see beyond the present and physical predicament. He wants us to see with our eyes of the spirit into a place where there is no limitation to what we can achieve and speak thereby as the people He has chosen for His own glory.

May every limitation you have seen so far turn to opportunity in the name of Jesus.
