HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

I WILL HELP YOU

The subject for discussion today is a statement made by God. Of course, for help to be required, there is a lingering problem at hand. Help is usually required when all efforts have yielded no result, when all powers have failed and when every means of getting the solution to a problem have been exhausted.
2 Kings 6:26, "And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. 27, And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?"
There are many situations in our life today that have defiled every possible help from man, it is time to look up to God for an unfailing solution.
Every man born of a woman is limited in nature. Man is limited in time, resources, wisdom, knowledge, and power. But, God is not limited by any of these factors. This makes it crucial for a man to seek help only from God. It doesn't matter the help you could get from man, God remains our ultimate Helper. The day God stops helping you, is the day you begin to go down. May that never be your portion in Jesus name.

Naaman was an army general with records of victory in many wars, but he was a leper. The whole of Syria have required the help of Naaman in fighting their enemies, meanwhile, he himself needed a help for a problem that has defiled every possible help from man. 2 Kings 5:1, "Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper".  May every clause derogating your godly personality be removed in the name of Jesus.

There are so many people with unique abilities and achievements that could be a great source of help to humanity but not without a limitation. This shows a tremendous need for help from a higher source far above principality and power. When a man understands the feebleness of his being and therefore acknowledges God as his only source of help, he can be sure of receiving timely help from God.
David understood this and he says in Psalm 121:1-2, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2, My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth"
Today, God is not even waiting for you to ask for help, rather He is voluntarily saying to you, don't worry, I understand all your predicaments, and, I will help you. Praise God!
Isaiah 41:13-14, "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. 14, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel".

WHY WOULD GOD VOLUNTEER TO HELP US?
  • For His name sake.
    • 1 Samuel 12:22, "For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people".
  • He is a covenant-keeping God.
    • Genesis 17:7, "I’m establishing my covenant between me and you, and with your descendants who come after you, generation after generation, as an eternal covenant, to be your God and your descendants’ God after you".
  • He is not ignorant of our limitations as human beings.
    • Job 25:4, "How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?"
  • He is aware of the presence of evil forces here on earth
    • Isaiah 41:11-12, "Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing, and they that strive with thee shall perish.12, Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought".

WHAT ARE THE PROOF THAT GOD WILL FULFIL HIS PROMISES?

When promises are made, it is important to know the integrity of the one that is making the promises.

The track record of God shows His undeniable and high level of integrity.

Exodus 15:1-11, this is a song and testimony of Moses about the power of God having received a great deliverance from the hands of Pharaoh and his chariots.
Daniel 6:4-27, Daniel was delivered from the Lion's Den
Daniel 3:1-28, Shadrach Mesach and Abednigo were delivered from the fiery furnace.
Acts 16:16-26, Paul and Silas were miraculously delivered from prison
Acts 12:1-11, Peter was rescued from the prison by the divine intervention of God through an angel.

When God speaks, you can be rest assured He has done it.

Numbers 23:19, "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

Malachi 3:6, "For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed".

Jeremiah 32:27, "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?"

Jesus put it this way, Luke 21:33, "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away".

TO WHOM ARE THESE PROMISES MADE?

Isaiah 41:8-9, "But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. 9, Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away".
    1. The Israelite of God
    2. The chosen of God
    3. The seed of Abraham
      • Galatians 3:16, "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ".
      • Galatians 3:29, "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise".
    4. Those that have given their life to Jesus Christ.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO RECEIVE THIS VOLUNTARY HELP FROM GOD?

If you are already a child of God, this help is certainly for you. All you need to do is simple, just accept the offer by faith and allow God to help you.

But, if you are yet to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, you have to do so now. That is the first step to take. Thereafter, be a good follower of Jesus Christ.
