HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

PAY NOT EVIL FOR EVIL

Evil is displayed in any action that is targeted at causing harm, destruction and misfortune. Evil is conceived and executed when someone is hurt, sad, or dead. The mission statement of the evil genius (Satan) is captioned in John 10:10, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy": But, Jesus mission states, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly". Every evil that is carried out by men all have their purpose and fulfilment in the statement above. However, as a child of God, Romans 12:21 says, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good". This actually points at our topic, "Pay Not Evil For Evil".

Please don't be surprised when you see men standing in your way to success because that will always be the case, but remember, pay not evil for evil. Don't even try to fight back because you can not win the battle all by yourself, you  may even lose your life doing so. There is no man destined to be great in life without a taste of this evil experience but it will always works together for your good.

It may interest you to know that for every Jesus, there is a Judas (a close ally that is ready to sell you out for a few cash). For every Joseph, there are envious brothers ready to do everything possible to make sure your dream and God-given purpose is not fulfilled. For every Elijah, there is a Jezebel (a demon possessed individual ready to take advantage of your brief spiritual worn-out). For every Esau, there is a Jacob (a brother watching closely and strategizing to possess that which is rightly belonging to you). For every David, there is a King Saul (a jealous boss who is ready to kill you and your potentials). The list indeed is inexhaustible but they all come out victoriously when they allowed God to avenge their enemy and refuse to pay evil for evil as commanded by God.

Have you in any way had a taste of evil done by men? Well, I have. But, I've learnt to always leave everything for God to handle without paying evil for evil.

At creation, Adam was created originally in the nature of God which is void of evil. Genesis 1:31, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good". But, the nature of Adam became perverted when he gave in to the deceptive advice of the devil. And, from that day onward, the nature of man became quick to do evil rather than good. Genesis 6:5, "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually".

Psalm 14:2-3, "The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. 3, They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one".

Apostle Paul further testified about this evil nature of man in Romans 7:21-25, "I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22, "For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23, But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24, O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25, I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin".

The true nature of every man is stated in the scripture above, every man is capable of doing both good and evil and that is why it is important for every man to acknowledge his incapability for self-sustenance and thereby surrender his life to Jesus Christ who is able to deliver all from this body of death.

Paying not evil for evil may not be an easy decision to take especially when you have the power to avenge yourself of evil men has done to you. However, when you obey the Lord's instructions, there are many benefits attached to it.

WHY  I SHOULD NOT PAY EVIL FOR EVIL

1. When you repay evil for evil, it shows actually who is your father.

Matthew 5:44-45, "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45, That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust".

2. When you repay evil for evil, it shows who actually is your master.

John 10:27, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me":

3. Evil will only result in more evil.

Proverbs 15:1, "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger".

1Samuel 25:9-13, "And when David's young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased. 10, And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master. 11, Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be? 12, So David's young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings. 13, And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff".

4. When you determine and make up your mind not to repay evil for evil, God will turn it to your good

Proverbs 25:21-22, "If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: 22, For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee".

5. Whenever you help God to do what only Him should do, you will fail.

Romans 12:19, "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord".

2Samuel 6:7, "And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God".

In conclusion, the perverted nature of man is subject to the devil. Therefore, accepting the nature of God helps to forsake the evil ways. Surrender your life to Jesus today and be free from the body of death.
