HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YE?

In the middle of hopelessness and a state of dilemma, Jesus asked a very intriguing question, "How many loaves have ye?"          It is very unlikely to fathom with the hope that any solution could be offered when found in the situation as recorded in Mark 8:1-10. There was hunger, weakness, despair, hopelessness, scarcity and death in view.  The disciples' response was indeed nothing different from mine or yours except we are schooled and able to comprehend what Jesus did to arrest the situation. To have a smooth sail and end well as a Christian on earth, it is important to understand the know-how and steps required to tackle many issues that bedevil us.  As far as the present world is concerned, problems abound. Ranging from health, finance, marriage, family, business, spiritual, and otherwise, every man is encumbered daily with pockets of troubles.  However, these problems are not designed to mar us, rather, they help in shaping our lives for the greater gl

WHO ARE YOUR FRIENDS?

We come across different individuals on a daily basis, many with good and lovable characters while many with funny, despicable and questionable attitudes. Notwithstanding, friends are chosen based on the kind of people we are. As the saying goes, "show me your friends and I will show you who you are", "birds of a feather flock together".

We try to make friends with one another on many occasions but the truth is friends are not made, real friends are consciously chosen by us.  Friends are not just an acquaintance nor a companion, hence, not all acquaintances nor companions are your friend. You chose those that you call your friends by yourself.

Due to certain interest, a lot of acquaintances comes your way just for what they can benefit from you. But, this does not warrant you choosing them as your friend even when they refer to you as their friend.
Proverbs 19:4, 6 "Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour" "Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts"

Please, understand that friends are not made, friends are chosen and this is a practice by every one of us whether consciously or not. As loving as God can be, the bible shows us He chose His friend.
Isaiah 41:8, "But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend"

Without any ambiguity, Jesus revealed to us who actually is a friend; according to John 15:15, "Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you". From the scripture quoted, we can see friends as listed below;
  • A friend is not just a companion, a lover, a brother, a sister, a mother, or a father;
  • A friend is the one you share your secret with.
  • A friend may not always be perfect, but he is a chosen one. Jesus says in John 15:16, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you".
  • A friend is a person of like mind, a devoted acquaintance, not necessarily of the same class, status, and age.
Friends are people with a mandate to help you fulfil the purpose of God for your life. Jesus called the disciples His friend because they have been mandated to help Him fulfil the purpose of God for His life, including Judas Iscariot. If you understand what I meant.

Friends are an important factor in our life, the absence of which success may become unachievable. This may not be such a big issue but rather, how friendly are you to your friends. Proverbs 18:24 says, "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother".

The best friendship you can have today is a friendship with Jesus. This has been proven to be the best form of friendship that ever exist. Jesus has never failed and He will never fail. Have you imagined a friend laying down his life for his friend? That is exactly what Jesus has done for you even when you are yet to accept his hands of friendship. John 15:13 says "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends".

Give your life to Jesus today and begin a friendship that transcends the present realm. Friendship with Jesus is the only way to get the attention of God the Father. Your many problems would be solved when you are deeply in friendship with Jesus.

If you will like to make Jesus your friend right now, say the following words loud;
Lord Jesus, I come to you today
I have realized that I have stood as Your enemy for a long time
Your death on the cross of Calvary has never been appreciated by me
I confess my sins and repent of them all
Please, forgive all my sins
Today, I accept Your ever-waiting hand of friendship
Write my name in the book of life and let me reign with you in the eternal kingdom of God
Thank You Father for this wonderful opportunity
In Jesus name (Amen)
